About The Internal Complaints Committee
An ICC (Internal Complaints Committee) in a college is a mandatory body formed under India's POSH Act 2013 and UGC Regulations to prevent, prohibit, and redress sexual harassment against women (students, staff) on campus, providing a confidential platform for lodging complaints, conducting fair inquiries, ensuring anonymity, and organizing awareness programs to foster a safe, gender-equal learning environment
Purpose of the ICC
- Redressal: To investigate and resolve complaints of sexual harassment impartially and confidentially.
- Prevention: To create a zero-tolerance environment for harassment and promote gender sensitivity.
- Awareness: To conduct campaigns, workshops, and programs on gender equality, women's rights, and appropriate conduct.
